Who we are

About

c/o Studios is a professional studio offering a specialised combination of holistic art care and conservation services. We are trained conservators with experience treating a range of materials ranging from historic and modern paintings, Indigenous art, sculpture, frames, works on paper and complex contemporary artworks. We respect the significance material culture has for all communities and believe conservation is a collaborative enterprise. We are passionate about working with artists and communities, making conservation more accessible.

c/o Studios aims to provide artist-, value- and people-centred conservation of modern and contemporary art that is sustainable, inclusive and collaborative.

People

Founded in 2019, c/o Studios is based on the creative partnership of Eleanor Vallier and Robyn Ho. Originally trained in painting conservation, we enjoy collaborating with artists and clients to deliver creative solutions to help conserve a variety of material types and artworks. Collectively we have over 20 years’ experience working locally and internationally within the areas of design, fine art, architecture, galleries, museums and communities, and bring a unique interdisciplinary perspective to the care of your artworks. All staff are Members of the Australian Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material.

Robyn Ho is a conservator and interior designer with experience in art conservation, architecture, teaching and research. Prior to starting c/o Studios in 2019, Robyn has worked and taught in conservation for the University of Melbourne, interned in China, as well as working in various private practices in Australia. Previous to working in conservation, Robyn was a senior designer with 15 years of commercial architectural experience. The relativist social, spatial and material relations that influence how people interact and value cultural material and objects has always been of interest to Robyn, and her practice continues to explore how conservation can contribute to contemporary art, spatial art practices and our understanding of new materials.

Advocacy

c/o Studios believe that all cultural heritage has immense value to society and that all people can contribute to the act of conservation.
